A kitchen takes ten to sixteen weeks from the first meeting to the first meal. Most of that time is design and lead times, not building.
Week by week
- Weeks 1–2: survey, brief and layout options
- Weeks 3–5: drawings, appliances and finishes chosen
- Weeks 6–10: joinery made in the workshop; stone templated
- Weeks 11–13: strip-out, services and fitting
- Weeks 14–16: stone, splashback, snagging and handover
Choose the appliances before the cabinets. Everything else is drawn around them. Julian, senior designer
